Dr. Andy Han earned his bachelor’s degree with a summa cum laude distinction from the University of Pennsylvania before obtaining his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. His commitment to advancing medical knowledge led him to a postdoctoral research year at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he conducted clinical trials under the mentorship of Dr. Peter Campochiaro, a prominent figure in the retina field.
He completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at USC Roski Eye Institute while earning a notable “Resident Teaching Award for Clinical Instructor.” He has performed over a thousand surgeries, including for macular holes, retinal detachments, lens dislocations, vitreous hemorrhage, and epiretinal membranes.
Dr. Han treats a wide range of retinal diseases in his clinic, from macular degeneration to retinal vein occlusions and diabetic retinopathy. He utilizes the newest and most effective treatments and injectables that have been proven to work in rigorous clinical trials. He has published several articles in ophthalmology journals and has presented his findings at national conferences. Proficient in medical Spanish, he continues to expand his language skills, currently dedicating time to enhancing his proficiency in Korean.
